Peter Pang is the Founder, Chairman and Managing Partner of IPO Pang Xingpu Law Firm where he leads a team of lawyers with offices in Shanghai, China. Mr. Pang hasover 35 years of experience as a practicing attorney in both China and North America. Mr. Pangpractices cross border mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, foreign direct investments, franchise law, intellectual property law, corporate governance and compliance, commercial contracts, employment law and dispute resolution. He has written numerous articles and blogs on Chinese law and legal issues and is a frequent speaker at international bar organizations.

Prior to going into private practice, Mr. Pang served as in-house corporate and IP counsel at Shell Oil Company, M&A attorney for Hershey Foods, Vice President and General Counsel for Dole Packaged Food Corporation, Chief Corporate Counsel for Nissan North America, EVP and GC for Win Win Gaming, Inc. and Legal Representative for bwin Interactive Gaming AG. Most recently, Mr. Pangcompleted a three-year stint as Of Counsel to the U.S. Michigan based law firm of Dickinson Wright PLLC, working out of their Washington DC office, where he primarily focused on international business transactions.

Mr. Pang’s practice also includes helping Chinese businesses expand their reach and footprint throughout North America and Europe. With both a national and an international perspective on the legal and business environment,and having lived and worked in North America, Asia and Europe, Mr. Pang understands the cultural differences between the East and the West.

This has enabled him to help international clients successfully and efficiently navigate through the Chinese bureaucratic and regulatory red-tape, and vice versa, working with Chinese enterprises entering North America. Mr. Pang’s vast international network of attorneys, accountants and local partners can help Chinese businesses realize their outbound ambitions.

Mr. Pang was educated in both China and the United States, having studied law in Hong Kong, China and the US. He has attended University of Hong Kong, Tsinghua University, UC Berkeley, Santa Clara Law School, University of Houston and the Fuqua School at Duke University.

Mr. Pang is active in the Shanghai Association of Lawyers, American Chamber in Shanghai and is a member of the bars in California, Texas, Washington DC, Pennsylvania and New York. He is admitted to practice before the US Supreme Court.
